We cannot be members of MRYC today without considering its history and the members that have come before us. The date was May 1st, 1949 when a small group of sailors took control of a struggling sailing club and changed its direction. Through strong leadership, motivation and a goal of "embracing sailors on all parts of the river" later that year it officially became the Metedeconk River Yacht Club, and the rest is history.
On the following pages we would like to share our club history. As history goes, this is a work in progress and these pages will be continually developed, amended and modified. We would like to request that our membership feel free to submit any pictures, literature,or memorabilia that would be of interest and value in helping to establish and record the history of MRYC.
